Usually, on those all too rare occasions in Beleriand where private time and space coincided with both of them present at Himring or Barad Eithel, it was Fingon lying in Maedhros’s arms. Maedhros was a handspan taller, his arms longer, and an arrangement where Fingon’s head rested in the hollow of Maedhros’s right shoulder was a particular comfort for them both. But there were times when, for whatever reason, Maedhros took shelter and comfort in Fingon’s arms instead. — Not that they worried about whose arms were around whom, or any other nominal role, particularly later in Valinor and Beleriand Risen.
