Author notes: I wanted to write a short fic detailing what it means to be a rail line owner in the game, because the game really doesn't touch on that.
Summary: Angie tries to run a rail empire.

"What does the city need now?" Angie asked, looking over at her assistant.

"According to the latest news, Ma'am, it's lumber."

"Lumber." She shook her head. Fortunately, she'd already built the infrastructure to get to the nearest lumber mill. "Very well. And the other industries?"

"Still in need of coal, wheat, and logs." Her assistant rifled through the papers she carried. Angie was lucky that she'd been born with some income, enough to invest in the new railways.

"The usual, then." There seemed to be industries popping up all the time, and she wanted to see Sandport, her home town, become dominant. "Post a message in our association's headquarters and let's work on coordinating things. Then go to city hall and see what the other associations are planning - maybe we can coordinate."

"Yes, Ma'am." With that, her assistant left. Angie brushed an annoying ringlet out of her face, cursing the heritage that left her with Asian features and her mother's light, curly hair. Maybe she should ask her maid to style things differently.

In the meantime, she had trains to schedule and to upgrade, research to direct, and a city to grow.

She'd better get started.
