Gabriel leapt down from the fence to find Callie sitting on the fluffy cushion, enjoying the spring sunshine.

"Hey! There’s no Sashimi left!"

"No," she said, delicately licking a paw. "Tubbs was here early today. All he’s left is some of the Thrifty Bitz."

"That’s what you get when you show up late, I guess. Is Lady Meow-Meow around?" Gabriel peered around the backyard, spotting the luxurious hammock she normally commandeered.

"No, she won’t come until Friday on pay week. There’s always Deluxe Tuna Bitz then, and that’s the only thing she’ll eat." Callie arched her back and stretched. "It’s not like she has the time to chat with us moggies, anyway." She curled up and closed her eyes.

"Me, I’m just here for the mouse toy! Got to keep my sword skills sharp. This city is full of scoundrels," said Señor Don Gato, strolling by.

"You weren't here the day she said hello to me," Gabriel told Callie haughtily. He sharpened his claws on Mr Meowgi's log and wandered over to sniff at the food bowls. Thrifty Bitz were better than nothing, and, ooh! There was the pompom toy! He could entertain himself for a while and maybe some more congenial company would turn up.

Notes: Gabriel is a tuxedo cat, Callie is a Calico. Tubbs is an enormous white cat that eats everything! Señor Don Gato wears a feathered hat and carries a sword, and only plays with the mouse on a string. Mr Meowgi is a Ronin and practices on the scratching log. Lady Meow-Meow is an American Shorthair in sunglasses and bling who only comes when you put out the expensive food and the luxurious hammock.
