Wow!
Wow. This really captures the climax of the film and his antiheroic, exultantly psycho-self-destructive qualities. This is awesome!! (Hmmm... any interest in something similar for The Roaring Twenties with Cagney and Humphrey Bogart, or The Maltese Falcon or The Big Sleep with Bogart? always loved those flicks too.)
And I do not mind the colorization at all. I know it is considered heresy by film critics and noir fanatics -- and I do not mean it as such at all; I love film noir! -- but I've always wondered what some of the iconic b/w noir films would've been like in color. In an apples/oranges kind of way, of course... not to supplant the originals, but to supplement them, if you will. Color film is not not noir... it all depends on the lighting.

Re: Wow!
Thank you! :)

In fact, before anime got its hooks into me, classic movies were kinda my main graphics subject for years. I was a massive James Cagney fan (still love the guy), and did quite a bit with Bogart as well. If you're interested in seeing my past work, you can find the majority of it at my graphics journal, [community profile] wolfbane_icons. (I can point you specifically to the Cagney and Bogart tags.) ...The caveat being that all of my old wallpapers were only 800x600 resolution. :Þ

Unfortunately, my graphics postings have been rare for a long time. The biggest reason is that my focus shifted more to writing. The graphics I do make these days are usually just prompt fills for this comm.

I had no idea there were any stills of this scene out there to work with. I love it! Your font choices are fantastic, too!
