Demeter treated Triptolemus as if he was her son.

Part of her felt bad for killing Demophon after she tried to make him immortal. Another part was secretly elated that she had someone in her life, especially after the deal between her, Zeus, Hades and Persephone was brokered.

Knowing that humankind had relied too much on her growing crops for them, she decided to teach Triptolemus how to grow crops. In time, he'd travel Greece and tell men and women how to grow their own crops.

When he left her to teach others, she was happy and proud for once.
