Lucifer: poetry: dream journal

  • Mar. 14th, 2018 at 9:19 PM
title: dream journal
fandom: Lucifer
contents: spoilers for Season 2; ptsd; refers to canonical off-screen torture
poem form: double rondelet (a French form consisting of a single septet with two rhymes and one refrain: AbAabbA)

summary: Linda knows that dreams are often metaphors -- messages from the subconscious. But not always.

her face, the moon
blotted out the stars, one by one
her face, the moon
inescapable, blazing noon
at midnight, burning out the sun
as I struggled, helpless, undone
her face, the moon

last night I dreamed
a bloody moon, a twisted tree
last night I dreamed
a woman other than she seemed
her hands like fire burning free
a searing truth, she murdered me
last night I dreamed
