Parker leans against the doorframe, watching Eliot slice through vegetables with the same skill and precision she’s seen him use in a fight. He isn’t smiling, but he looks content.

“What are you doing, Parker?” His voice is rough and grumbly but she knows it’s mostly for show.

“Watching you.”

Eliot pauses a moment and frowns. “Why?”

“I like watching you cook, it makes me hungry.”

Eliot rolled his eyes. “Dinner won’t be ready for a while yet.”

“That’s not what it’s making me hungry for.” Parker flashes him a wicked smile.

Eliot puts down the knife. Dinner can wait.
