Summary: Celia and Roz share a moment in the woods.

Celia awoke with a shiver and found that she didn't have the blanket on top of her anymore. Roz had, as usual, dragged it all towards their side of the bed. Celia grabbed one corner and sleepily claimed some of it back. She was half aware of a wish not to wake Roz, but her own desire for warmth was stronger.

She slid closer to Roz, carefully wrapped an arm around their naked biceps. Roz often slept in sleeveless shirts. They were always warm. Celia envied them this, particularly on nights like this.

Roz stirred in their sleep, tensed, then relaxed again. Celia ran an affectionate hand over the close-cropped hair on the back of their head, kissed the nape of their neck.

They were hiding way in the woods, but at least they weren’t hiding from each other anymore - or from themselves. Roz had been the first to confess to Celia that they‘d never thought of themselves as a woman, or a girl, that they would much prefer a male or neutral appearance, and now that they had been banned from court with nothing left to lose, they were planning on giving in to that to see where it led.

Celia had taken a while to confess her feelings, but eventually, on their second night in the forest of Arden, she had thought it fair and necessary.

The activities of the marriage bed did not interest her, and she equally had no desires on Roz in that way. But she did, that night, feel the lack of physical affection between herself and her friend more keenly than ever before.

And in the end, it had only taken three simple words: „Can we cuddle?“ Roz had seemed surprised that that was even a question, but had nodded, and everything else had flown from there.

They would be out of the woods soon, just as soon as Roz convinced that nice wrestler to marry them. Practicalities, after all, had to be thought of. Celia sighed inwardly. It would become harder for them to share intimacies like this, but then again, no one looked too closely at what they perceived as two women being this affectionate in the daytime, so she guessed arrangements would work themselves out in the end.

She squeezed Roz's hand and relaxed back against them. She trusted them implicitly, and they had come up with this plan, and it was better than anything Celia could have thought of, and better still than wandering the woods forever.

She kissed Roz's hand, then, and Roz stirred and squeezed her hand in response.

Aliena was the name she had given to herself - a stranger. But, she thought before she drifted back to sleep, she had never felt more at home than with Roz by her side like this, and she was certain that little could go wrong as long as their friendship lasted.

Thanks! I think they're my favourite of the Shakespeare characters I've messed around with so far.
