Summary:

Cultural Differences

‘Drinking alone’ the wags among the Ironfists called it, the propensity of those of the Longbeard clan to Make their children without spouses, and often enough (so it seemed) without input from anyone else at all, regularly arranged or otherwise. Formally of course, it was ‘after the manner of Durin the Deathless’ and, yes, when it was the King Under the Mountain, or one of his children, direct in Durin’s Line, Making an heir unfathered, what else was there to say? Anyone else, though, was drinking alone, and why would anyone do that with so many excellent folk to drink with?
