Jim was undoubtedly the best Starfleet captain. His charisma, leadership, and brilliant strategical mind were without peers. He projected such strength and courage that many forgot that he was only a human, fragile and breakable.

In Spock's quarters Jim shrugged away the command persona like a heavy overcoat, showinghis doubt, worries and fears: What if I do wrong? What if I fail my crew?

Spock wished to shelter Jim from his burden. He held him firmly, "I will not let you fall."

"You are my refuge." Jim blushed. "Sorry, I'm presuming..."

Spock tightened his hold. "I will always be yours."
