Title: Jewels of Basidium
Fandom: Mushroom Planet series - Eleanor Cameron
Rating: G
Length: 100 words, 30"
Content notes: Amber, resin, glass and metal beads, silk thread, silver ginko leaf.
Author notes: Thanks go to my mom, who gave me the original amber and resin necklaces that had broken. I knew the first time I saw the resin one (I was 8, and had just read The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet) I knew that it was made of Basidium Jewels.
Summary: Rudeness makes a memory.

necklace of amber, green, and red-brown stones, with a silver ginko leaf pendant

Horatio Q. Peabody may have tossed away the Basidium stones as worthless and uninteresting, forgetting what they were and why they were in his pocket, but Chuck and David were more than happy to forgive him that rudeness, especially after David rescued them (and the sodden notebook) from the wet sand. The memory of argument over Ta's necklace in the ship on the way up still stung, but having made up, it served as a reminder to have more care. David cradled the stones in his hand. Perhaps he would make them up into a necklace too, as a memory.

This is lovely! Very autumnal. :) It really fits into the current phase of the season in my region, where the leaves are fading from their peak of color and starting to fall from the trees.
