He couldn't take his eyes from the guy beside him; finally, Casey was dozed off, still a smile on his lips. Zeke felt almost thankful for this; he needed some moments to sort out his feelings.

No one had ever aroused such deep emotions in him. He had always known to keep people on distance, though they called him 'the king' and 'the heartbreaker' at school. All the flirting and partying had kept him sane when the loneliness in his life had been just too much, but he had never fooled himself. None of the guys and girls who used to hang around him like the bees around the flowers truely cared about him.

How right he was had gotten evident when he got into serious trouble some weeks ago, accused of a crime he hadn't done. But no one had been willing to believe him, to back him up. Not his parents, not his teachers, not his so-called friends. No one but Casey, the school's geek. He had been there for him, had openly taken his side without caring about the consequences for himself.

First Zeke had tried to push him away; he was used to it to deal with his life alone, he didn't need help from anyone else. But Casey had turned out to be a stubborn little shit; every day he had sneaked deeper under his skin.

And tonight...

Zeke had never considered that he might be bi, but in Casey's arms, he had felt so lively and real like never before. As much as this scared him, he knew he never wanted to be without him again.
