Methos read the report on the grave find near Nestor’s palace in Pylos, and felt an unexpected sense of — not nostalgia really, he neither missed nor romanticized the ancient world — bittersweet memory. He knew that olive grove, that tomb, or if not that precise tomb, that exact grove, others very like it. He'd been lucky more than once not to be buried — abandoned — in such a grave; it would have been extremely difficult to escape. It had been a very different world, in some ways. Larger and smaller, faster, slower, certainly, in others. But olive trees still smelled the same.
