Title: Crumbling Paper

Summary: Celeborn has lived long enough to see papers he wrote crumble into dust.

He’s old enough to remember papers he wrote crumbling into nothing as time passed, or yellowing and fading into they were almost illegible.

Celeborn doesn’t mourn those papers, because they’re like the trees in Doriath were, eventually seizing to exist when they reached their age.

He does mourn other things, the people that should have lived forward and the homes he has had destroyed, gone long before their time.

And Doriath hadn’t even left parts of it behind to be remembered by, but had sank beneath the waves to never be seen again, unlike the faded papers that at least suggested they once existed.
