Summary: Jensen's been working on something behind Cougar's back.



Jensen sat down on the couch next to Cougar. He didn’t plop down, he didn’t sprawl out into Cougar’s space, and he didn’t slump over so he was leaning half his body weight onto Cougar’s shoulder.

“What’s wrong?” Cougar asked.

“Nothing. It’s just… I have news.”

Cougar waited.

Jensen took a deep breath. “I know you’ve been trying to find info on your friend. The one from your first unit.”

Cougar raised an eyebrow. No one was supposed to know anything about his first unit; officially they didn’t exist. And Cougar had never mentioned his friend.

“Hacker, remember?” Jensen said, as if that explained it all.

“And?”

Jensen swallowed. “I think I found him.”

Cougar leaned back. “How?”

“Been running an algorithm. Facial rec, satellites. Slow, but effective.”

“How slow?”

Jensen paused. “Been running it ever since you sent that email asking about him.”

Cougar smiled. Years of thinking he’d never see the man who saved his life when he was eighteen, and here all this time Jensen had been looking too.

“I know, I know,” Jensen added, “Your email is your email and if I ever look through it again--”

Cougar shrugged. “It’s what you get when you fuck a hacker. Joining me on the rescue mission?”

Jensen grinned. “Try and stop me.”
