She was dragged, yanked, kicking and screaming from a dream where she didn’t feel anything.

She was tortured by her rebirth with memories that were not hers.

Women screaming, children crying, men pleading for their lives.

It was all red. So much red, and blood and pain and they were not hers.

She shivers as she hears the voices.

The hissing beside her ear makes her jump, but there is no one beside her. The phantom touch of a nail scraping her skin is only from a ghost in her mind.

She screams, because then, it stops.

For a while.
