Summary: Bruce gets Dick defrosted after Freeze's attack. But apparently Dick's still not warm enough for his liking.


“You know you have your own bathroom, right?” Bruce deadpans.

Dick’s eyes are closed, his head tipped back against the side of the tub. “Yeah, but yours is bigger.” At least he sounds relaxed now, not angry.

They don’t talk about how Dick’s angry a lot, how it leads to him making reckless choices, stupid mistakes. Like tonight, diving at Mr Freeze, getting himself frozen and keeping Bruce from capturing Freeze in lieu of thawing Dick out.

Apparently they’re also not going to talk about the fact that Bruce gave specific orders for Dick to spend time in the training simulator. Mostly because Bruce is tired and not in the mood for another argument - all too often Dick’s anger seems to be directed at him.

He understands why. Bruce was just a child when his parents were murdered, not knowing what to do his own anger, too young and too powerless. But Dick’s a young man, and he does have the power to lash out and strike back at the world. He just doesn’t have the control he needs to go with it.

So Bruce has to be Dick’s sense of control for him.

But not tonight.

Tonight Dick’s reclining in Bruce’s overly large bathtub, bubbles everywhere. And tonight Bruce doesn’t want an argument, so he drops his robe to the floor instead. Sees the way Dick cracks one eye open to watch as Bruce manoeuvres into the tub opposite him, sees the small smile on Dick’s lips.

“You don’t usually have the water this hot,” Bruce comments idly, settling against the porcelain.

Dick shrugs, water rippling around him. “Yeah, well, I don’t usually get turned into a giant ice cube.”

Bruce snorts, closes his own eyes, inhaling steam and the scent of soap. “I’d hope not.”

He hears the water slosh over the edge of the bath as Dick moves, and Alfred won’t be happy about that, but Bruce will worry about it later. Because Dick’s hands stroke up Bruce’s bare thighs as he shifts and slides closer, moving until he can straddle Bruce’s lap, gripping his shoulders.

Bruce opens his eyes again, watches water drip from Dick’s hair, roll down his neck and shoulders.

“I still feel cold,” Dick smirks, playful and far too good at pushing Bruce’s buttons.

“I find that hard to believe,” Bruce replies levelly. The water’s hot enough to turn Dick’s skin pink.

Dick shakes his head lightly, always amused by Bruce’s dry reactions to these moments of seduction. They both already know Bruce will give in. “Warm me up?”

Even more water ends up flooding over the bath’s edge as they move together, kissing deeply. Bruce’s hands slide over Dick’s skin, searching for purchase or just mindlessly groping. Grinding against each other, even though it’s too slippery, too awkward, until Bruce gets a hand between them, begins to stroke Dick firm and fast.

“I think you’re plenty hot,” Bruce quips, mouth chasing bubbles across Dick’s throat, and Dick comes laughing.
