Tracy sat up in bed and looked at the girl lying next to her. “Malia, are you asleep?” she whispered.

With a sigh the werecoyote opened her eyes. “I was” she said. Brushing a strand of dark hair out of her girlfriend’s face, she asked “What’s the matter?”

Tracy shrugged her shoulders.

“Did you have another nightmare?” asked Malia.

Without meeting Malia’s eyes, Tracy nodded.

Malia sat up and wrapped her arms around the other girl. “It’s okay, Tracy” she said. “It’s all over now.”

“I’m sorry for waking you up again” Tracy mumbled.

“Don’t ever be sorry” said Malia.
