With his natural ingenuity, it had made him an incredibly effective Power Ranger and a worthy second to Jason's Red Ranger.

It hadn't prepared him for the reality of what being a Power Ranger really meant. And it had done nothing to prepare him for the eventuality that they might not be able to beat Rita Repulsa.

It wasn't until he was faced with several losing battles in a row and a relentless new foe, the Command Center in ruins and his friends completely demoralized that Zack realized just what was at stake here. They'd wagered the entire world on the hope that their team could protect it from Rita. And they had lost.
