Summary: Caranthir and Maglor are similar to one another, in that neither is prone to being love sick fools like their siblings and cousins.



“Dear Eru.” Caranthir rolled his eyes as he looked at his siblings and cousins. “It was bad enough when Maitimo and Kano were the only ones acting like this – but now the rest of you have joined in.”

Maglor smirked. “But it’s so fun.”

Caranthir stared. “You don’t even count. You don’t have any real chemistry with anyone, but you just decided to act like the rest of the lovesick idiots to annoy me.”

“How do you know I don’t have anyone?” Maglor said.

“Because if you did, you would be over there in the weeds with them, picking flowers and making bouquets and whatever else they’re doing for their loves, rather than over here talking to me,” Caranthir responded.

“Perhaps my lady simply prefers that I not bring her such gifts, but rather sing her praises in song.” Maglor teased.

“Well, wherever you found that lady, let me know. I’ll either have to steal her from you, or find one of her relatives to love,” Caranthir said. He picked up a flower and tossed it into the air. “Or perhaps the two of us will simply have to content ourselves with other interests.”

“Like watching all of them make fools of themselves?”Maglor raised an eyebrow.

Caranthir laughed. “Of course! Doesn’t Turko make a lovely fool?”

Maglor shook his head, laughing as well. “Of course, but don’t tell him that – it is somewhat reminiscent of when he was a child. Did you know he followed Indis around because he liked her hair?”

Caranthir laughed again. “No, but that sounds like him.”

“It is him, after all.” Both brothers smiled at one another, before turning to watch the chaos in the meadow for a while longer.
