She thinks that she should have known.

She had been drawn to him from the very beginning, and it would be wrong to assume that she ever had a choice to be away from him, the person that he is, who has done all that he has done.

But, who is she to judge? She is like him, a person who can be elusive or ephemeral.

She is the law student, hiding her true identity of ‘murderer’. But, she does understand survival, and that is possibly why she is standing in his home, waiting for him, as he opens the door and his eyes widen in surprise.

There is a split second where she doubts him. She imagines herself as Rebecca might have been; dead with vacant eyes, blood trickling down Frank’s cheek as he grits his teeth harder to make sure that his job is done. The moment passes and her resolve returns.

“I know,” is all she says, as her fingers fidget behind her back and she stands rigid in the middle of his living room.

She remembers the way she had listened to Annalise and Frank as they discussed the disposal of the body. She remembers the way her heart had thudded fast at the prospect that she could be next. She had felt like she had lost that hour since she remembers nothing else until she had snapped out of it and a plan had formulated in her mind.

Frank does not question her, nor does he ask her the meaning behind her statement; instead, he steps inside and closes the door behind him with a slight shove that resounds with a dull thud in the empty hallway of the building, just as she starts to unbutton her top with slow, precise movements.
