Angrod isn’t a genius like his older brother or his cousins.

(Fingon had laughed the first time he said this, and told him that none of them except for Curufin and Maglor were geniuses in anything, and those two were idiots in plenty of things).

Angrod is never going to be able to twist metal into pretty crowns or navigate the politics of Aman, leaving everyone happy.

But here, he can do this better and faster than anyone else can. Numbers fill the page, as he finds the answers again and again.
