Title: Silent Portraits
Fandom: Harry Potter
Rating: K+
Length: 113 words
Content notes: Mentioned canon character death.
Author notes: N/A
Summary: Luna loved to watch her mother paint.

Luna loved to watch her mother paint, colors swept across the canvas.

She had especially loved watching her mother work on her self-portrait, which she had told Luna she would lay all the spells on as soon as she could, so Luna would never have to be alone.

It wasn’t an ordinary portrait, as befitted the woman eccentric enough to fit into the Lovegood family. She was spinning around, dancing as she cast a spell – a habit that was well known to anyone who knew her.

Luna crept into the room after her mother’s death, wanting to be with it.

She sobbed and clutched her blanket closer when the portrait was silent.
