Summary: John is a training officer.

As a training officer, it is John Cooper's job to teach his trainee everything that their needs in order to be good cops.

Kids these days, they come out of the Academy all shiny and new just bursting with civic pride; they feel like they can go out there and accomplish anything and everything they put their mind to. Little do they know that being a cop is never that simple, or that easy.

There's danger out there, in the form of guns and knives and fists, but also as lies and misdirection and bullshit. If you aren't ready you'll get yourself killed, or worse, get your partner killed, and since John's not ready to die he's going make sure this new rookie he's been assigned is ready for all that's out there.

He hasn't lost a trainee yet and he's not about to lose one now.
