Summary: Celebrimbor thought Celeborn was one of the most confusing elves he knew, especially when he said things like this.

“You are the splitting image of your grandfather, you know.”

Celebrimbor nodded his head gracefully. “Everyone says that.”

“You know, you’re not exactly the same as he was,” Celeborn said later.

“Oh? I wasn’t aware you knew him,” Celebrimbor said.

Celeborn shrugged. “I’ve seen portraits, and heard my brothers-in-law’s descriptions. Your hair is apparently calmer than his was.”

“His hair?”

Celeborn shot him a look. “You know, mirrors don’t show the image exactly how it is. They show the reverse.”

“What- what do you mean?” Celebrimbor stared at his friend.

“You’ll figure it out one day,” Celeborn laughed. “You’ll have to.”
