Do you have a preference for which shirt color Sherlock picks? Some people started leaving comments with theirs so I thought I'd take a vote. The winning shirt gets featured in a sequel! :)

The real question is, whichever shirt Sherlock picks, what does he think the pros and cons are? (And, what's John's opinion?)

To be honest, when I wrote this I thought that if there were any opinions at all, the purple shirt would be the resounding choice. When black started turning up in the comments, I decided to put it to an actual vote when I posted this to the comms, to see if that pattern would hold. (You're not the only one to vote for purple, btw. Just the only one here, thus far.)

There's nothing wrong with "unsubtle"! Sherlock is, after all, known for being about as subtle as a brick upside the head. ;) Perhaps the purple shirt will suit his purposes exactly.

You are correct--what's really important is what Sherlock thinks, and, of course, what John thinks when he sees Sherlock in it! I'll work that out once we have a winner! :-p

That's a very good point. He seems to favor the purple quite a bit for "everyday" wear--he might well want to do something different to mark the significance of the occasion. One more for black, then!

I do love a good 221B. And this is a good 221B ^_^ The story fits its form perfectly, and that's a lovely twist. I thought it was rather endearing that Sherlock doesn't realise that, though John is taking an awful lot of care over his own appearance, he won't be bothered about the specifics of Sherlock's appearance ^^

(Though incidentally: Sherlock, the purple shirt has a great many fans, but I think you should go with the black ^_^)

(I'm inclined to agree! Though the Purple Shirt ~~of Sex~~ has so many fans it probably qualifies as its own fandom at this point, the black one is so sleek and understatedly elegant.)

Delicious, to be sure, but maybe a bit too obvious. Wouldn't want to be too predictable! I'm sure Sherlock is factoring that into his decision right now! :-p
