Title: Topography of Touch
Challenge #95: Exploration
Fandom: Captain America
Rating: PG
Pairing: Bucky/Steve
Length: 257 words
Summary: Bucky never every inch of Steve intimately.

Steve Roger's rough and tumble childhood had been written across his skin. There were general marks, like the scarring along the knuckles from all those punches he threw, the ridges along the inside of his wrists left by pavement scrapes, and the marks doting his elbows and knees left by rough landings, alongside ones that chronicled specific events like the pockmarks that dotted his body from when that case of German measles should have killed him when Steve was seven, the long thin lines along his back from that time he hadn't ducked low enough scrabbling under a fence and the divot under his chin from that disastrous shaving lesson with the too-sharp straight razor.

In the time that they were together, once they became of age but before the war got in the way of everything, Bucky became well versed in the topography that was Steve Rogers. He knew every curve, every callous, every scar. He was intimately acquainted with every taste, every touch, every movement. When it came to Steve, Bucky knew where he fit: right arm around the ribs with the hand over the heart, left arm bent and pillowed under them both, knees bent with one behind Steve's legs and the other slung over them and his mouth nuzzling the nape of the neck. They slotted together like they were made for one another and when he had Steve to wrap around everything was right in the world.

Then came the war and nothing, neither him nor Steve, was the same ever again.

The feels! I was going "oh yes" in the first paragraph and "oh hell yeah" in the second...and then that last sentence...ow.
