Summary: Fingon is left to babysit Turgon. There's always the problem of convincing Turgon to go anywhere, while Fingon is determined to get him to visit their cousins.



“Turukáno! If I have to drag you out of here over my shoulder, you are going to see our cousins with me!” Fingon shouted through the house.

“I don’t want to go see our cousins. I want to stay here and read my books.” Turgon appeared at the top of the stairs, clutching a stuffed bear in one hand and a well worn book in the other. “Amil said it was fine if I just wanted to read and didn’t want to go play.”

“Amil is off at the market today, and they left me in charge,” Fingon said. “And I say that you need to go see our cousins.”

Turgon shook his head. “I don’t want to. You always make me play with Curvo, and I don’t like playing with him.”

“If you don’t want to play with Curvo, what do you want to do? And don’t say stay here and read your book,” Fingon added when he saw Turgon start to open his mouth.

Turgon stared for a moment, before nodding to himself, a childish echo of Fingolfin’s mannerisms. “I want to watch Káno practice his music, if I can.”

Fingon raised an eyebrow. “That’s not exactly my idea of fun, but I’m sure if you’re quiet he will let you watch. Now, will you please come with me to see our cousins? I’ll carry you.”

Turgon finally nodded, and placed his book on the table before toddling down. “Can I bring my bear?”

“Of course. Just be careful not to leave him behind again, alright? We don’t want father to have to make another midnight visit to Uncle Feanáro’s house, do we?”

Turgon’s eyes widened and he shook his head.

“Alright, just don’t leave him behind and everything will be fine.” Fingon shoved open the doors to the house. “And off we go!”
