Title: Moments Before, Of and When
Challenge #93:
Elusive or Ephemeral
Fandom: Batman Beyond
Rating: G
Pairing: Terry McGinnis/Dana Tan
Length: 100 words
Summary: Dana knows it'll only last a moment, but she'll take what time she has.

The music plays, reverberating through them; his hands are on her hips with hers on his back, feeling his muscles rippling as they lose themselves in the beat. He won't stay long, they'll have one, maybe two songs together before a call will inevitably come. He'll promise to return, she knows he won't but she'll say it's fine pretending she doesn't mind as he rushes off. She's neither stupid nor blind, she sees the cuts and bruises; what he does is dangerous, but she's not suppose to know, so she dances and tries not to love what she cannot have.

What a good paragraph. The flowing construction is effective, and handled just right. And the feeling, too.

Lovely, and melancholy.
