Summary: What must it be like for Chitanda to walk in her uncle’s footsteps at school?

Eru isn’t really the dreaming type. Her sleep is deep and quiet, the thick snowfall of winter wrapping the world in gradual rest, rather than an avalanche of chaotic subconscious wanderings. Her curiosity must need to take a break sometimes.

But lately, since reaching high school, she’s been dreaming about her uncle. Even though she last remembers him as the beloved older brother of her childhood, she’s been seeing him at the age she is now, long before she was born.

Sometimes it feels like he’s moving against time, receding back to the start.

Maybe that means he’s really dead.
