The Palermo heat clung to Francesco’s shirt despite the fans whirring restlessly in the background.

He glanced up from the paperwork to check the notification buzzing on his phone and he quite literally beamed at the screen.

Turi snorted. “It’s her, isn’t it?”

“Who?” Francesco played dumb, but Turi knew better.

“Love looks good on you, inspector.”

Francesco huffed, but his grin lingered as he stood.

In the hallway, Viola waited against the wall, her smile bright enough to light up the precinct.

“Missed me?” she asked.

He dipped his head, voice low. “I’ll show you when I’m off duty.”
