If Don Quixote - nay, Sancho - had noticed her reaction, she didn't show it. The River of Lethe. The river that Outis had sought once, long ago, a place that she thought only existed in fable. But here was a Second Kindred Bloodfiend, saying in front of them all that she drank from the River.

The place of forgetting, an oblivion that even the Head could not touch.

But the memories had been dredged up. It was thanks to those rank shoes, but nonetheless - Outis had to reconsider...
