Content notes: Warnings for murder, mental and physical abuse to a teenager and implied about a child, underage (semi forced) villainy, something close to brainwashing, fairly graphic depictions of violence, and mentions of way too many broken bones.
Author notes: Written for Challenge #89, 'Family', as well as the 'Falling' (I interpreted it as 'Dying') square on my hc_bingo card. Continuity notes! I'm prescribing to a lot of the head-canon of TrisakAminawn's Earth-3 story, 'Cirque de Triomphe', as well as making up a lot of my own, most notably including: Owlman is Bruce, not the older brother Thomas Jr.; Harley is alive and well as Harlequin, not introduced and killed in two shots; Alexander Luthor is just Lex, he's not the magical-crazy backwards Shazam from Forever Evil; The Riddler is named Enigma; The Jokester is definitely insane, but he's not Joker insane, he's cracked as opposed to being broken; and Hal Jordan is the Power Ring, but not the strange ultra-paranoid one in Forever Evil, just an evil one.
Summary: I am Talon, I know I will never be anything else, but at least I can choose not to be his Talon. I can choose to be more than the living weapon that Owlman made me. - Earth-3 universe, Talon/Richard (Dick) Grayson-centric, with the Jokester and appearances by Lex Luthor, Owlman/Bruce Wayne, and Harlequin/Harleen Quinzel.
