History: Lord of the Rings: Fanfic: Fireworks
Title: Fireworks
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Rating: G
Length: 120
Content notes: N/A
Author notes: Thanks go to Zana, Morgynleri & Icka for encouragement & sanity-checking.
Summary: A celebration
The fireworks went up into the air to screams of exuberance and anticipation. They burst into flowers and cascades and streamers of light and color. This was fire and air compacted into delight: the devices of the Enemy that had destroyed and terrorized remade into beauty and joy. That the Battle of Sudden Flame had been Ages earlier was of no matter, for the memories of Dwarves are long, and those of Elves even longer. Let the sky blaze with petals of fire, brief and joyful, defying remembered horror, and celebrating life and light and the determination and artistry of alliance.
Stronger together than divided, more in common than different. Strife, too, was a device of the Enemy, insidious and damaging.
