Sunlight falls through cracks
Bringing warmth to dark places
Gold ribbons of life

Furrows wait for seed
Cut deep in winter-cold fields
Black promise of life

Grass stems eager stretch
Vines climb and twine, reaching out
Green tendrils of life

Raindrops trickle down
Wetting stone, skin, earth and sky
Silver lines of life

Thought pinned to paper
Ink like blood flows from the brush
Red runnels of life
