Now that he knew what to look for, Jiashang could see it in his sketches.
He’d drawn Shizhen so many times. The angle of her cheekbone. The curve of her forehead. The way her eyes crinkled when she laughed. Over and over again, he was drawn to her face like a flower to the sun. But it was there, too, in the way she stood, how she held her shoulders. Her clothes were out of fashion, but she wore them like a princess.
Like his sisters. Like a Rong.
Dress her differently, change her hair, and she could be family.
