Original Fiction: Tomatoes & Lesbianism

Summary: lesbian farmers being lesbians in a farm.
Note: mentioned violence and sex

When Mack had said maybe they could leave it all behind and go live in a farm or something like that, Hunter had thought it was an adorable idea. Then kissed her a little harder, the concept that Mack wanted to settle down with her was still wild now. Six years in this life and sometimes Hunter wondered if she’d wake up single in her bunk bed with Mack as the woman she had sex with a couple of times.

Mack had a collection of weapons, plushies and the reputation of dangerous womaniser. Mackie was devoted to a fault, not sure of what she was doing in a relationship but trying her best to be a good girlfriend.

It was more a marriage than a dating situation at this point, they grew tomatoes together. Hunter liked to think about when Mack drove her to this plot of land. One of the smaller farms, but much larger than anywhere Hunter had ever lived in. Mack went on and on about how she could use her magical knowledge to make sure the earth would yield the reddest and tastiest tomatoes in human histories. Alongside whatever other salad items they could throw around. It was adorable to watch her rambling about the federal definition of organic labels.

When Hunter dreamed about settling down and such, she had imagined a woman she met in some random moment like during her morning runs at the park. Someone that didn’t even know about the “shadow side” of the world, to whom magic and werewolves and other monsters were nothing but horror and fantasy tropes. Someone who’d be quite horrified by even the tamiest of Hunter’s work stories.

But here she was, with Mack. Working with more vegetables than she had seen her whole life, they even had some chickens and a total of two horses. Mack did the ‘dirty job’ more often than her, being the one actually nurturing their crops. Hunter used her charm and looks (her manipulation skills) to sell their produce at the closest Farmer’s Market.

It was a beautiful life, Hunter thought sometimes. Maybe some kind of balance, countering how much violence both of them lived.

And there was the sex too, that was important. Hunter had a straight connection between adrenaline peaks and arousal, and was pretty sure Mack had too. This life was calmer, even if Mack was extremely careful, doing things such as reinforcing sigils and protective spells every week. And there was something almost magical about the sex when it easily became about affection and love more than two horny agents coming back from a bloody mission.

Maybe the farm yielded more than healthy crops.
