Author notes: This emerged while contemplating the rails I was riding upon on the train, and the road between Marathon and Athens, and the nature of roads in general.
Summary: Whither are you going?
Stone roads, steel roads,
copper roads and glass
Roads of rain and lightning,
Of gravity and mass
Bent roads, straight roads
Spiral roads and round
Ice and air and aether
All Intricately wound
Dawn roads, dusk roads
Noon and midnight pass
Sun and moon and star-shine
A-glimmer in the grass
String roads, strand roads
Roads composed of sound
Roads through gates and portals
To places lost and found
Mist roads, moss roads
Roads of molten brass
Bringing words from else-when
From mountain or crevasse
Wind roads, war roads
Peace-wrought roads resound
Whither are you going
O whither are you bound?

I have had a few poems published, but mostly I’ve been writing poetry for a very long time. I am a technical writer by trade.
