Summary: A morning ritual
Waiting for my tea to brew, I wandered through the lounge room to the sliding doors, and opened them to let in the morning air. I stretched, breathing in the crisp scents of Autumn. Leaving the doors open, I returned to the kitchen to make my tea.
I returned to the sofa armed with a steaming cup and a bowl of cereal. The cosy blanket I’d thrown over myself last night lay heaped on the floor. Poking out from beneath a fold was a fuzzy grey tail. I peered over the top of the blanket to see a cat face.
“Good morning, Marshmallow,” I greeted my visitor, who ignored me and continued to doze contentedly.
