Loved this! Great song choice and pick of clips to go with the lyrics (and bonus that Cake song + Matt Bomer reminds me of Bryce Larkin a little lolol).

I especially love the uses of Kate and Sara - I think it's so telling about Neal that when someone intentionally crafts "Neal's type" it's that his type is a woman he's conning, that he eventually brings into liking the con too. And to some extent all of Neal's canon love interests have turned into Neal/female character/crime OT3 lol.

Ha! Yes indeed. I am really interested in what romance/love/intimacy mean to Neal, because he wants them so desperately, and clearly he doesn't feel like he has to be honest or himself to get them (or to start to get them, anyway). Heh.

I love this, I love the rhythm and the parallels you draw between Rebecca and Kate and Sara.

And that is indeed a perfect song for Neal.

(Vids can make odd things stick in my mind -- Because of the way you interspersed scenes, it made me very aware of the arch carved into Neal's bedframe. It shows up after the arched stained glass and I couldn't help really noticing that echo of the shape.)

Heh. I'm not a fan of the pairing, either, but I'm fascinated by what love, intimacy and romance mean to Neal, and how he tends to project them onto the women he meets, even while he's conning them.
