"It's, like, half cheesy 80s-style episodic TV in which the main character travels around dealing out justice to the bad guy of the week, and half really dark and twisty and messed-up arc-y stuff, in which secrets of the past are slowly revealed in ways that just keep making things more WTF-ish, rather than less."

Well, yes, exactly, that's what made it wonderful=) Like the entire A-Team bound up in one (very hot) guy. So, as long as you love it to an unreasonable degree, you'll find approval with me, for whatever that's worth. Just don't watch the final, two hour, made for tv movie that ends in a cliffhanger and they never made the second half of.
