Teal’c had no doubt that he’d done the right thing, but he did regret the pain his actions would no doubt cause his friend. Daniel Jackson had joined the team with the express purpose of finding and rescuing his wife, taken from him to become host to a Goa’uld, and now he would never be able to bring Sha-re home to her people. And yet, Teal’c knew that given the choice, he would do the same again, because saving his friend’s life was the only thing he could have done.

“I am sorry, Daniel Jackson.”

“No, you did the right thing.”

That Daniel Jackson could admit to as much, even while in such physical, mental, and emotional pain, meant a great deal. It proved that despite appearances, he possessed the strength and heart of a warrior, something Teal’c had long known, but which Daniel Jackson himself had oftentimes doubted. He would recover, in time, although the pain of loss would weigh heavily on his heart for some time to come. What mattered was that he had accepted Teal’c’s apology, and in so doing, had accepted the continuation of their friendship.

SG-1 would not be damaged by Teal’c’s actions, only strengthened.

The End
