“Why do you have so many pink shirts when you never wear pink?” Ryo asked one evening, as Dee was shuffling through his closet picking out clothes for the following day.

Dee winced. “Because they’re supposed to be white, but I had a bit of a laundry mishap a few weeks back. Someone left a red sock in one of the machines in the laundry room and I didn’t find it until I’d done my laundry. Now most of my white shirts are various shades of pink, and I was told soakin’ them in bleach would turn ‘em white again, but I tried on one and now it looks like a tie dye, with pink and white streaks. Have to buy some new white shirts for court.” He scowled at the pink shirts shoved to one end of the rail.

“Let me take them home with me. I’ll fix them.”

“I can’t ask ya to do a load of my laundry!”

“You’re not asking, I’m offering. I’m pretty good at getting all kinds of stains out, and you’re not the first person to ever have a laundry mishap. Better than having to buy more shirts.”

“Thanks, babe, I’ll owe you.”

The End
