MCU: Fanfic: Stress and the Superhero

Title: Stress and the Superhero
Fandom: MCU
Rating: PG
Length: 288 words
Summary: Even Nick Fury is telling him to chill out.

“Relax,” Nick Fury told him. “Everything will be fine.”

Steve groaned. What the hell did Fury know? He’d been sleeping for 68 years. He didn’t want to relax! He felt strung as tight as Barton’s bow strings, maybe more. Relaxing was not on his agenda.

How was he supposed to relax anyway?

He paced around the small apartment like a caged tiger. He’d punched so many sandbags into oblivion that Hill had suggested he find something a little less violent to do. He’d tried running and though he did enjoy and it did help, it still him feeling too innervated to rest.

He hadn’t slept in three days.

He remembered that Hill had brought a box of pencils, charcoals and some big drawing pads. He’d loved drawing as a kid and had hoped to work in advertising, well that or be a famous artist like Picasso. He and Bucky had taken art classes until the war started.

He found the art supplies in his closet and spread them out on his kitchen table. He trimmed the wooden graphite pencils and opened the smaller pad. He began to sketch, and before he even thought about what he was doing, he had a rather comical cartoon of Iron Man flying upside down., yelling “JARVIS, this isn’t funny..”

Next, he sketched a quick drawing of Romanov with her knives drawn and deadly look oni her face. She was saying, “What do you mean you’re too scared of me to go out with me?”

He doodled a few drawings of other things and realized that he was getting a bit sleepy. He didn’t even bother to take off his shoes before he stretched out on the sofa.

He was asleep in minutes.
