Summary: Boimler reminisces on a common ensign task
Fixing leaks was a normal part of their ensign task rotation. It's something Boimler does and doesn't miss now that they've been promoted. He could live the rest of his life without dealing with so-called 'leaks' in the sonic showers and holodecks, but there's something satisfying about identifying and patching up sources of fluids that could threaten the safety of the ship.
"Hey, Boimler!" Rutherford nudges him. "There's a leak in a Jefferies tube, wanna help out?"
Although it's a request Boimler would normally turn down—Jefferies tubes make him anxious—the sudden nostalgia for ensign work makes him accept.
