"Mike - what are you doing?" Rachel asked from the kitchen doorway.
Bright smile on his face, Mike responded, "Making a snack."
"Okay, but you know we have dinner guests coming, right?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I know that. In like five hours, yeah?"
Rachel blinked. Then frowned. "Forty-five minutes, Mike."
Mike's eyes went wide and he glanced at his watch. "Oh! Shit! Wait - why'd I think... nevermind. I better go get ready."
Rachel, lips pressed together, nodded and stepped aside so Mike could slide past. Thankfully, their guests were Donna and Harvey, so this would become amusing dinner conversation.
