Author's Notes: I had a SW idea, but not much time to write. Thus, we got Honorverse again.
Shannon Foraker stuck a screwdriver into a hole in the datapad, as she took the datapad apart, so she could upgrade it. After all, she had to make or get something special for her chief of staff’s birthday. And he had served her well enough to deserve a present, besides not having his datapad stolen for parts, because her fingers needed something to fiddle with. He deserved better than that.

After all, she had to make or get something special for her chief of staff’s birthday. And he had served her well enough to deserve a present, besides not having his datapad stolen for parts, because her fingers needed something to fiddle with. He deserved better than that.
As she pulled out that last screw holding things in place, she carefully put it aside, so she could install the improved parts. She plugged them in with care, before putting the case back together, and jabbing the power button. As she saw the login screen again, it gave her hope that she could do something, unlike the failure of her systems to defend against Apollo.
