Summary: Meredith gets forewarning of Lexie's existence.
It is - it's not that Meredith has had a long day. She has. If she had the energy, and the slightest hint of whoever mentioned the q-word in the vicinity of A&E while she was assigned, there would be blood. Which would make maintenance hate her.
So. It's been a long day. A long, busy day. Not long enough to excuse her almost missing the new voicemail. That's just sloppy. And surgeons can't afford to be sloppy.
It's a voicemail, so she listens while brushing her teeth. Almost out, and one of the cretins she lets rent has left the lid off. Again.
The voice - female, chipper, not high pitched enough to set off Meredith's headache - is gushing. About her? Meredith is slightly too sleep deprived to recognise the number. Or maybe she doesn't know the number. She knows she doesn't know the voice. Which means that her coldcaller doesn't work at Seattle Grace.
Or she does. Just very, very recently.
That's ... a problem. A problem for another day, and another Meredith. A Meredith who has energy to care about family.
