"According to Bartimaeus, you're avoiding him," Kitty says as she clings to Nathaniel's garden door.
He glances at her. "And how exactly did he arrive at that conclusion?"
Kitty eyes the scene before her and raises a brow. At Nathaniel, pristine white sleeves rolled up, surrounded by iron buckets and heaps of soil, and a small packet of incriminating seeds in his hand — all of which are highly unpleasant for a being of air and fire.
"Is that rosemary?" she asks, lips curling into a smile.
Nathaniel wrinkles his nose and returns to his task. "So what if it is?"
