Summary: Buttoned fall-front trousers are an invitation to undoing
Slowly, deliberately, Maedhros undid Fingon’s straining fall-front, one button at a time, alternating between the two sides, leaving the top buttons for last. It was a delightful torment, a drawn out pleasure and anticipation of pleasure. Toggles, ties, hooks, even laces did not have quite the same effect as the careful twist-slide-pop of buttons. Buttons could be worked one-handed, as they had learned in Beleriand. That was no longer a requirement, but meant Maedhros had a hand free for other uses — teasing nipples, tugging braids, oiled caresses — all pleasures in themselves, no less a joining than what was to come.
